1/52 John Shaw

This is my first entry for my portrait a week series. Every week I'll feature someone different and write a short bio of them from my point of view. I'm really excited to keep up with this series guys! I think it will be a good learning experience for me and a creative task to stick to.

The first person I'm featuring in my portrait series is John Shaw. Also known as Jack. Also known as my Grandpa. He is one of my favorite people (and I can say that honestly, not just to be cute). He's been in the Navy on many ships, built parking garages in downtown Cleveland, sang in the church choir, climbed the Great wall of China, among many other things. He's also a very skilled carpenter with his own basement workshop and I have so many of his pieces in my apartment. The most important though, is his honest and kind spirit. I have never seen him upset or angry and he's always looking at situations in a different light. You know how you feel when you get a real, genuine compliment? Well, that's how he makes me feel when he says something positive about me. It makes me feel like a million bucks.
